There are 3 panels.
PANEL 1: Fran, with tears streaming down her cheeks, her face etched with anguish and anger, shouts: “They killed them! We came back from camping and we found them dead!”.
PANEL 2: Fran ends up screaming: “They killed Wade and my father!”. In the image, Vince and Wade are both lying lifeless on the floor against a wooden sideboard, surrounded by a pool of thick blood. Vince is curled up almost in a fetal position, his head resting on his shoulder. Bloodstains cover his face, arms, and torso. Wade is lying almost seated, one knee bent and the other extended on the floor, his back against the piece of furniture behind him. He has a gunshot wound across his chest, which pierces the fabric of his long sleeved shirt, leaving a trail of blood that trickles down his torso, pooling as it flows downwards. His head falls to one side, almost onto his shoulder. His eyes are gently closed. On the surface of the sideboard lies a fallen kerosene lamp and an axe stuck in the wood. Both corpses are partially illuminated by the cold moonlight streaming through the window.
PANEL 3: Gefrei places one hand on his chest and raises the other in a fist, his index finger raised, as if issuing a declaration of integrity, and speaks: “Commander Frederic decided that he was a danger to the mission. Given the situation, should the command have been mine, I would have shared his words”.
