There are 4 panels.
PANEL 1: Fran and Alan rest on the riverbank; she is sitting and he is lying on his back next to her, with one hand on his belly and another stroking the grass. Fran explains: "A joke needs to be simple, like when you said you wanted to be a farmer". Alan argues: "Hey! I was being serious about it", to which Fran replies: "And that's what makes it so funny!".
PANEL 2: Alan pretends to be offended, moving his face away and showing Fran the palm of his hand, as if to stop her. He says: "Very cruel of you to mock my broken dreams. I don't want you to speak to me any longer".
PANEL 3: Fran approaches Alan and asks, showing a small shameless smile: "What does a woman tell her farmer husband when she can't sleep?". Alan is thinking, suspicious.
PANEL 4: Fran completes the joke: "Honey, can you tell me about your job?". Both laugh out loud, lying on the floor. Alan splashes Fran with river water as they keep laughing.
