There are 6 panels.
PANEL 1: The man asks his wife: “Love, make something for the guests, and take it to the girl so she doesn't get up”. She is stirring a pot that is steaming over the stove. The man quickly turns his face towards where his children are playing and exclaims: “Kids! Prepare the table for one more!”. In the background, at the table, the old man is still sitting, rocking idly in his chair, bottle in hand.
PANEL 2: Fran responds to what was said: “Thanks for everything, but I can walk slowly to the table”. At the same time, she tries to get out of bed with some difficulty, holding the bandage with one hand and supporting herself on one leg with the other.
PANEL 3: She continues: “Really! I'm not that hurt…”, and immediately makes a face of pain that makes her squint and grind her teeth.
PANEL 4: The man leans on the bed with one knee, not sitting down but standing with a certain camaraderie near Fran, who remains seated on the edge. He proposes: “Let’s do something: I bring the table here so you’re not left alone, and you stop moving. Alright?”. She agrees with a mixture of resignation and relief: “Okay…”.
PANEL 5: The table is set, with the guests seated and ready, and on the center are two small, wide mouthed glass spheres, each containing a lit candle, serving as lamps.
PANEL 6: It’s dinnertime, and everyone is eating from clay bowls. Hector’s face is turned slightly toward Fran, who is lying very close on the bed and looking without much enthusiasm at the bowl of stew she’s holding.
