PANEL 1: Fran is sitting up in bed, distraught. The woman is standing beside her, her hand on her shoulder, comforting her. Hector, worried, looks at the man and says, “Sir, Alan…”. The man, with a hand on Hector’s shoulder, tries to calm him and asks: “We’ll get to who this Alan is, but first I must ask… Are you being chased?”. Hector replies: “We lost them when the bridge broke. They’ve been chasing us from Ayr”.

PANEL 2: The man reacts abruptly, turning away from Hector and raising his voice: “You broke the bridge!? What did you steal?”. Hector’s eyes widen as he tries to defend himself from the accusations: “We didn’t…! Nothing!”.

PANEL 3: The front door of the house bursts open, slamming against the wall.

PANEL 4: The older man storms through the door, axe slung over his shoulder, furious, shouting: “Sons of a hundred whores them jackals! The bastards broke the freaking bridge!”.

PANEL 5: The woman, surprised, asks him: “Jackals?”. Fran listens in astonishment.

PANEL 6: The man replies: “Yes! Sent them running away. Cowardly mages…”. The husband looks at his wife and shrugs, not knowing what to say. Fran, Hector, and the whole family heed the man’s words, especially the older brother, who approaches him.
