Transcript

There are 6 panels.

PANEL 1: The guy suddenly turns his face, pulling a sullen expression: "Pff...".

PANEL 2: The boss kneels to get something out of her backpack. Sensing the bad mood but not allowing any transgressions, she asks, without turning around: "Something to say?". The blonde woman remains standing a few meters behind her, while the guy is still with his back turned, his fist closed, as if trying to hold himself back.

PANEL 3: While firmly but discreetly holding the hilt of his sheathed sword, he elaborates: "I was thinking...".

PANEL 4: He is interrupted by the boss, who curtly adds: "Good, healthy exercise", now standing and holding her backpack by one of its straps.

PANEL 5: The guy continues: "I would like to ask for permission to continue the search on my own if they don’t show up".

PANEL 6: As she puts on her backpack, the boss rules without question: “It can’t be, we finish and turn back. They need us in Ayr”.

I really enjoy writing dialogue, particularly when alternating between different characters. Keeping scenes from different viewpoints thematically tied together is challenging, but immensely rewarding. It is also a great pain for Lucy who has to put together interesting visual scenes of people mostly talking, but it's fun delegating some of the unspoken bits into the character reactions.
